Piano, a little guitar. I am back in Suzuki teacher training classes to teach piano. I have noticed an interesting division between Suzuki teachers and traditional. Each side thinks the other side isn't teaching in a thorough way. However, since I admire the Suzuki ideals, I am going to stick with it for now. I have played in church but never in a formal recital. The saxophone would be interesting to learn, but I am more interested in getting better at guitar and piano first. Marimba might be next. Good luck in your music studies.

I play the piano. Like it, but don't think people will give you more respect just because you know how to play an instrument.
People will only respect you more if you can play an instrument VERY WELL and EXCEL in it.

Yeah, i play flute, guitar, drums and piano/keyboard.... and i love every second of it. i have had a lot of people tell me that they respect me for teaching myself how to play piano and guitar, but as far as treating me different? id think so. I perform many times a year at music festivals and i am in the process of learning the alto sax. i think it will be fun!!!! continue with ur passion for music... it is deffinetly worth it!!!

i've been playing the violin for almost 6 years! it took me almost 2 years to get good at playing it but now i love it! it was so worth the hard work.
i would love to learn to play the french horn but i think i'll stick to violin.
i've found that a lot of people give me more respect for playing but most of all i give more respect for other musicians, since i know how much hard work it takes!
i've performed at least 4 times a year at my school, more if i enter solo contests ect.

I play the flute. All the movies depict musicians as 'band geeks'. When I was in school, the band was the only group that made it to state. All our sports teams sucked. I had fun. We went to a lot of places. We were ranked 9th in state my freshman year.

i played clarinet and saxophone and quit. however i still i the sax under my bed, its been there for a couple of years. i would say you do get more respect but its not something you would strive for as a musician. playing music should be through passion not for respect.
i want to learn electric guitar and drums xD

I play flute at music college and I love it. Even at school people were impressed. I also play piano and sing.
By the way it's SaxAphone not saxOphone. Very common error.
