I think there's more than one out there for all of us but they are few and far between and the chances of us finding them all are remote. If you find just one of them over a lifetime, you're very lucky and should treasure them, however it all turns out.

I don't believe that there is "a" soulmate, but there are a number of people that you connect with on a number of levels. I've been lucky enough to have one as my partner and another as a best-friend. The fact of the matter is to be happy and if things don't work out then not to give up hope.

Yes I do believe that it is true that there is a soulmate there for you and everyone that is looking for a partner. I believe my soon to be husband is my soulmate because it's like he is made for me. Finding a soulmate also means that person is close enough to open up to you and be just like a best friend.

Yes and no. I think there is a strong possibility that there is a special someone out there for everyone. But finding them would be impossible. Imagine every person in the world was allocated a number, and that everyone in world was also given a card with another number on and that this number is the person who is perfect for you.
Can you imagine the odds of finding the person whose number corresponds to the number you have on your card? There are around 6.5 billion people in the world, so the odds are obviously 6,500,000,000/1. But if you think those odds are bad, what are the odds that the person whose number you have has YOUR number on THEIR card!? Wow! Now we're talking astronomical odds, or to be precise, that's 42,250,000,000,000,000,000/1.
Yes, I know I sound pretty cynical, but it's not as bad as it sounds. That's just the odds of finding the PERFECT match, and no relationship is ever perfect, but most of them are happy nevertheless.

I found my ideal man. But i believe there could be other men out there in this massive world who I would be just as happy with. While my relationship with my husband is every thing I've ever wanted, I'm sure he isn't the only person on the planet who could give me that level of satisfaction.
But I am ecstatically happy with him and won't be looking for anyone else.
So no it's not an illusion.

I do not subscribe to one particular soul mate somewhere that one connects with perfectly. We generally pick our "soul mate" from the people we get to meet. So our environment, the schools we attend, where we live, our work place, social functions we attend will determine whom we meet and finally hook up with after a series of eliminations, one or two heartbreaks or learning experiences. It is a choice we make.

I think there are a number of people out there who are good, great or damn near perfect for everyone, but there really is no such thing as perfect so to expect such a thing I personally beleive puts undue pressure on a relationship.

nah, it's real alright, believe me.
it will hit you like a bolt of lightning. it's like nothing you have ever known. it shocks and surprises you when you meet your soulmate, all in a good way of course.
your full of emotions and you just 'know' this is the end of the searching and waiting.
