If you go to a conventional calorie burn table it always appoints what you are raising here, which I do not agree, even the number of burn calories is the same, you muscles will never work the same by jogging than by walking, but it seems that in terms of calorie burn you are close to the truth...

Yes walking or jogging a mile will burn the same number of calories. Calories are just a unit of energy. It takes the same amount of energy for you to travel one mile whether walking or jogging or running. The only difference is the cardio workout. Jogging or running are better cardio workouts.

I actually did a project about that. 8 out of 10 people burned more calories jogging than running. The other 2 must have been messed up :)

Jogging will burn more calories because of increased action of the heart. If a calorie is a unit of heat burned during exercise, which will take more of this energy? Jogging will burn more calories, the ones required by the cardiovascular system.

Running burns more calories than walking.
In a study group the average male runner burned 124 calories per mile running and 88 calories per mile walking (for females it was 105 and 74). If you subtract the basic metabolism (calories you would burn for just being alived) then the ratio is even wider 2:1 in favor of running.
One exception, race-walking can burn as many calories as running or even more. The explanation for this is that "walking at very fast speeds forces your body to move in ways it wasn't designed to move."
Despite the (surprising) less-calories-burned factor, walking is still a great way to cross train and burn calories.

No, it will not equal the same amount. If you look up a chart, you will find that even walking a bit faster than a normal jaunt will burn more calories in the same amount of time. Try going to bodybreak.com and find an exercise chart to get your answer. Good luck.

YES!!!! Jogging one mile is equal to walking one mile. But, walking just takes longer. You will burn more if you weight your ankles or arms, like with 5 or 10 lb weights.

Nope. You'll be moving your body faster while jogging. This requires more energy. Walking a mile will not require as much energy because you will be moving at a slower pace.
