Yes, unfortunately she could be pregnant. This is why it is best to get kittens fixed as soon as possible. A cat (or dog) can go into heat at just 6 months. With a dog, you can keep it in a fenced yard which helps prevent unplanned pregnancies, however it only helps.

With cats that are allowed outside, you can't control who they run into. At 6 months, your cat is still a kitten. She is actually too young to have kittens, and it is hard on her and hard on her kittens. She may have several stillborns, or sickly kittens, or be unable to feed them.

Even if she has the litter without problems then you need to find home for all the kittens, and get her fixed. Why? Because I do some volunteering at an animal shelter, and there were over 20 kittens there last week. Sadly they don't all find homes.

The scary fact is, an average cat can have 24 kittens in a year. Each of them can grow up to have 24 kittens a year. And how many wind up at the shelter? So in addition to a litter at this age being hard on your kitten, the future of her kittens could be a one way visit to a shelter. Even with no kill operations, there are only so many kittens that get adopted each year.

Well, don't let it (her) go out to strolling in streets again.. there are many bad cats out there.. they just don't distinguish between young or old kittens.. they easily get attracted and just can't help it! :)

By the way.. I had a cat Liza.. she did at at six months as well.. it's natural! a Kiss for the kitten!

They can get pregnant as early as 4 months if that's when their heat cycles hit -- which usually coincides with spring (and throughout summer). Please have her spayed ASAP if you don't want kittens, and immediatly after she weans the babies if you do.
