I personally sell many more prints than original paintings. The main reason is money. A print can sell for a fraction of the cost of the original.

The idea is to get art exposed to as many people as possible. An beloved professor of mine used to say, "Art should be free, because it frees the soul." If the only art a person sees is a print or reproduction, it's better than never seeing ANY art.

Have you ever seen the original "David" by Michelangelo? DaVinci's "Mona Lisa" in the Louvre? Neither have I, but I am a more educated and enlightened person for having viewed images (or reproductions) of them.

Originals are best, of course. But not always practical.
