I have twice, the first time me and the guy decided to stop sleeping together to remain friends. The second time was rough because we were such good friends that we shared past relationship stories and air dirty laundry then decided to try the "relationship" thing. He knew too much of my habits and held so much against me. Was always skeptical of my actions or where abouts it was annoying. It was like we were never friends in the first place. Each circumstance will be different but I won't do it again.

If you have a rock solid friendship and are both mature enough to handle the "oops we should not have done that". It may turn out to be the real thing. But, if either one feels it might damage the relationship, better think twice. Time will be the test.
"Better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all"
Or something like that.

Depends on how long have I known this friend. If I have been friends with him for a very long time, I would have to say no. If I have been friends with him for less than a year, then I would have to say it is worth the risk.

I was in a situation like this. We decided not to ruin the friendship.
We had been friends for years and were very close and also mature enough to know that the possible loss of our friendship was not worth having sex. We don't regret our decision to this day.

If there is hope of the relationship lasting yes. If you have no intentions of having a relationship with her/him then no. Friendship lasts longer and is more valuable than a relationship. Make a wise decision or you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

if the friend was someone with potential and the relationship was something more then just sex, then yes.
if it was just physical, and the friendship was strong then no.

Only if you think it will or might turn into something more seriously. Otherwise you will lose that friend, and good friends are hard to find.

no..."messing around" with anyone would hurt both you and your friend. You owe yourself a better relationship than that.....
