I have seen people mention that "I have many gay friends, but I still don't think they should be married." or even to say that they disproove of their gay friends sexual preferences in general!

Is it possibe to friends from any minority and still be against that minority?

Ask the Vice President of United States. The man has a lesbian daughter. Shouldn't he be fighting for her rights? Shouldn't his voice be the loudest? What are dinners and social functions like at the White House for them? If you hold another person as lessor than yourself, not worthy of the same respect or rights then I would say you are no friend to them.

This is moral bankruptcy. Its like saying I'm not for the war but I support the troops. The troops are doing what - fighting what - the war?

What difference does it make in society if adam and steve get married at the san francisco city courthouse, those religions that dont want gay marriage won't let them get married in their churches.

Adam and steve are still going to be living together.

Yup, you could be against certain types of people but still be friends or fall in love with them. One is about your rationalized convictions and inhibitions, the other is experiential and emotionally driven and sometimes as human beings, we do not stay consistent.

Like Epona(1st answer) said, they are hippocrites. I don't think they can TRULY be friends because all the while, they are judging their friends in a negative way just because of their lifestyle. Sometimes friends must agree to disagree, but if you continue judging your friend afterwards, you can't really be friends.

Your opinion is well noted by most people, but understand that many people fall victim to the gay agenda, of which in essence is slap in the face to most so-called religious people.

It is possible to have friends from a minority or other sector of the society.

BUT if you are totally a homophobic or very descriminating towards others then it is impossible to have friends from those groups.

Yes it is.

I am opposed to smoking, yet I have several friends who do. I don't allow them to smoke in my house or car.

It isn't exactly the same, but it does show that you can like someone, and still be against them.

Yes it is possible to have friends that "sin".

If we were to stay away from people who sined, then we would have to live away from everyone else, because everyone sins.

The main thing is not to stay close to any friend, if that friends will cause you to sin also.
