Her birthday is July 30th. She hasn't been in preschool. She will start school 2 days after her birthday. There will be tons of grown ups (family) there, but no children other than my 3 year old.

We have done the princess thing. That isn't her thing anymore. She is a big fan of Jimmy Neutron. I know it is more of a boy thing, but it is what she loves.

Please keep in mind when you make your suggestions, when she turns 5, I will be 34 weeks pregnant. So that rules out any big trips. That is a little too close to be out of town. Thanks for your ideas!

I have a daughter who will be 5 July 3. I think if your daughter enjoys jimmy neutron try to have a party around the theme or ask her what she would want to do for her birthday. However my daughter is in preschool. But last year before she was in preschool it was just my other 2 children and her with a bunch of grown ups. So we did a cook out and had some water games and a pool. We have also done the princess theme. Ask your daughter if there is any other cartoon characters or themes that she would want like a pool party in the back yard if you have one. Feel free to contact me if you want any more suggestions

You know what?? I think you should have a water war... yes, with the grown-ups! Have everyone wear their suits (or clothes they don't mind being soaked in) and get some squirt guns and water balloons and let everyone go! It will be fun for your kids to see the grown-ups being silly ~ and the grown-ups get a chance to be kids again too! Grill some hot dogs and hamburgers, set out some chips, and you've got it. I'm sure you can find a Jimmy Neutron cake at your grocery store bakery, and go to a party store for all the fun plates and stuff. The best part for you is you can use your pregnancy as an excuse to sit back and watch everyone be goofy! Make sure you take tons of pictures!! ;-)

Give her an outside party with a slip in slide and have everyone wear their bathing suits. Serve hawian punch and fruit. Have cake and ice cream. You can even buy one of those sprinkler thingys that will squirt water.

Or since she is into Jimmy Neutron have a Jimmy Neutron based party and cake. It's really in expensive to get all the Neutron stuff from Wal Mart or Cosco. Have everyone come dressed as there favorite cartoon. Good luck

kids are really easily amused and pleased. as long as you have birthday type decorations up, she should be fine. a themed cake is a good idea. that's what i remember from my childhood-cakes. so get her a cake with jimmy neutron that says happy birthday in a jimmy nueutron type way. for the grown ups, have group games like sequence or a deck of cards. i mean, they know that they're coming to a birthday party. so have a cookout with a cake and everyone should be happy.

If it only adults you don't need a big party. Blow up some balloons and have some decorative plates. She will love it just the same. Maybe you can make a pinata with her before you birthday

Balloon, newspaper, glue, tissue paper and get creative.
When it hardens pop the inner balloon, cut a hole and fill it with odds and ends. Maybe a few adutls would like to take a swing at it. Your daughter would love to show off her creation to family and friends as well.

Hi,
We got 2 local entertainers to our grandaughters paty but I see on their site they now supply the script. They were Pirates and they did a 20 min panto show with just 2 entertainers (could be any two adults) and the children loved it. Adults could dress as pirates and act put the story for the children lots of opportunity for kids to join in.See webpage below and then click on the scropt page.

Since your daughter is likely to be the only child, how about picking up some small terra-cotta pots, acrylic paints, potting soil and seeds and having a painting and planting party? Fun for your daughter, fun for family members, and inexpensive. Your daughter could even act as "judge" for a "best pot" competition and hand out ribbons (available @ party supply stores) to the winners- 5 year olds LOVE being in charge!

It does not sound like a party for her at all if you ask me. At that age, you should be having parties with games appropriate for that age but with no kids that's kind of hard.

You state that you will have tons of adults yet you want to do this "party" inexpensively? I don't see how you will accomplish that. I don't see how this is even really the child's party at all. Sorry.

Quick and easy, Chuckie Cheese. I know there are a lot of adults, but it really takes care of other kids being around!
