Because the world will stop turning unless they, the most important person in the universe, is on the phone solving the world's problems.
Now can you imagine being a war zone with a driver that not only has a cup of coffee, an apple and a cell phone, driving a Humvee through one lane roads with kids and cows and who know what-else popping up?

They don't have to use them and probably should not use them while driving. I have seen too many drivers using cell phones that are not paying attention to their driving. Yes, people do many other things in cars that distract them from driving, but it doesn't make it right.

Basically they are to stupid and incompetent to realize they are endangering everyone around them. It is simple buy a hands free phone. If you can't afford it don't buy a phone. There should be stiff legal penalties in place for people driving with a phone up to there ear.

Because they are stupid kn*b'eads. In the UK the cost of being caught is 3points & a £60 fine & the price of a hands freekit is "around" £40. Mmm - How thick are these people??
Cut off one of their hands, then they would have a difficult choice!!! If I answer the phone I might crash & die!!!!

I don't know, but it is dangerous, I often see people struggling with the steering wheel and gear lever and telephone at the same time! In this day and age where hands-free and the like are available there's really no excuse but what can one do but hope and prey they cause an accident.

For many it is essential to their job. This is not really a problem though as long as you realize that driving is the first responsibility. I use mine while driving but generally dont when entering the interstate, too dangerous.

we can not expect all the the people to park the vechcle near the roadside to attend a call in this busy world; but anyway accessing mobiles while driving is risky... so people may use some hands free devices for this...

It's the reason I got a cell phone. To call my husband to pick up the kids because I am stuck in another #%@&*&$ traffic jam.

I drive kind of late at night and alone, and I use it sometimes to help stay awake, and I also use it for directions, if I am not sure where I am going. I do try to keep it to a minimum though.
