example 1 on why catholics get AIDS: The innocent ones don't sleep around. If they truly follow the church's edicts, they wouldn't do that anyway. If they don't follow the church's edicts, they probably wouldn't listen about the condom one either.

example 2 why do christians think its ok to tell people they are going to hell?
Why is speaking the truth considered to be 'hate speech'? Granted, there are some 'religious' people who are somewhat less tolerant than others, but truth is truth, whether we like it or not, whether it offends us or not. The Bible makes it very clear, when you die, you will go to Heaven or Hell. There is no in-between, it's either one or the other.

Don't swing with a long stick. As a matter of fact, most Christians in the world together with most people from other religions can very passionately sympathetic.

Most of the aid money and volunteer labor that flows around the world is of religious nature and statically speaking being the richer religion, I dare say that the biggest chunk is donated by the Christians.

Looking at certain religious nuts and calling everyone belongs to that religion just undermines the work of such great persons like Mother Theresa.

I am not a Christian and I don't like ultra-religious nuts either, doesn't matter what religion they belongs.

Some things that Christians may say may seem to be cruel but if it's a dog then you call it a dog. We are to speak boldly that the truth may be known. Sure, Satan gets offended at times because he hates the truth and he don't want anyone to be saved. If there is no truth to what this person is saying and it appears to be cruel then their fruits aren't producing on good grounds. Then they are out to offend rather then to help someone to find Christ. Pray for them that they would ask God to restore the right spirit within themselves. Jesus spoke the word and he didn't take down to God's word and whether you like it or not, God's word will not come back void!

It appears you do know the truth about what is truth, and that being the Word of God. As for why Christians are unsympathetic... they are human, with human emotions and they are constantly being bombarded by the enemy (the devil) who wants to destroy their witness to others and make God look bad. We have to admit, he does a pretty good job too. Some Christians want so much to please God they often go overboard in "Sharing the Word" and alienate people. The truth is the truth, yes, but shoving it down someone's throat is not the answer. God is perfectly capable of dealing with a person's heart without us haven't to force feed it to people. People should work on THEMSELVES FIRST... while making a strong conscientious effort to clean their own act up, anyone with any sense will see that and understand they are just normal human beings trying to do the best they can in a sinful world with the enemy hounding them at every turn.

Don't let a few people who are obsessed with "religion" and know nothing of "Christianity". Sometimes we get so obsessed with the rules we forget the people they were made for. All christians beating the Bible over your head are not Christians anymore than all men are creeps. Well...let me think on that one...grin... Some well meaning Bible bashers shunned me out of a church. Oh they were few. I was going through divorce they knew nothing about the circumstances and decided I was "guilty". The die hard believers realized something was wrong and looked further than my ex's lies. Found out the truth of the adulturous woman and him sleeping together. Now he has gone on to become a deacon and he might be the one telling you that your going to hell. Now as for me...I'm the one buying you lunch and listening to your problems telling you that life is worth it. Smell a rose...God is still on the throne. He loves you and he loves me. Not all christians are curel and unsympathetic, that is the religious zealots and the Bible addresses them. They stand on the corners proclaiming yet don't know him.

Some people plant the seeds of hatred and are surprised by the reaction. Being Christian does not mean that one has to sit back and read all the nonsense about Christians and keep quiet.

If there were no cruel and intolerant questions about their faith, I doubt that Christians would not react the way you say they do. Ask a respectful question and get a respectful answer. It's as simple as that.

You do not need to agree, but start by not insulting. The questions you have chosen as examples are generalizing, i. e putting all Christians in the same block. "Who do Christians this...Why do Christians that..."

First of: how can you make a theory based on two examples? (there are millions of us!!)

Second:Christians are human beings first. Y r u judging the people upon their religion? this is what some people think. it's not what the religion thinks.

christianity is love and forgiveness, and above all: acceptance of the other. Did Jesus not forgive a prostitute and accept her in his church once she repented ? how can such an act be heartless? or soul-less for that matter?

I think you should get to know christians and christianity for 2 reasons:
a- u would learn to be less judgemental
b- u will be a better person

Peace!

Christians are taught to love everyone. Jesus told us the Greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart mind, and soul and the 2nd is to love your neighbor as yourself. But we are also instructed to tell others about God, not by beating others over the head with Bibles, but by living the life. People will be attracted by what they see, and that's when we have an opportunity to witness. Some christians do become judgmental, but for you to judge a whole belief system because of some, would be the same as me judging all atheists on by the ACLU who seem to sit around and look for little things that no one has ever thought about to complain about. There are bad apples in every group, and it's wrong to judge anyone based on anyone else's actions.

Because they have forgotten the very thing that they believe Jesus preached about. I'm not a Christian but I like this parable Jesus told:

There once was a servant that owed his King a massive debt. When the King called his servant to collect this debt the servant told the King there was no way he could afford to pay him and begged him not to confiscate his land and imprison his family. The king pitied the servant, forgave him his debt, and sent him on his way. As he was leaving the palace the servant saw a messenger that owed him a very small debt. He asked the messenger for his money and the messenger told him he could not afford to pay him. The servant gave into a blind fury and beat the messenger and had him and his family imprisoned. when the king heard of this he called the servant back to him and asked him how the servant could do that to his messenger when the king himself had forgiven the servant himself of a much bigger debt. The king then freed the messenger reinstated the servants debt with interest and imprisoned the servant.

Yea, Christians tend to be big on the vertical love thing and don't consider the horizontal love, like Jesus talked about having. Because of that they miss out on the vertical & horizontal love.

Love God & Love people. (cf. 1 John 2:7-11; 4:7-8)

**also, I follow Jesus & my mind is very open. If you think I am blindly following you are wrong. I have lived without Jesus & now with Jesus...the difference is obvious. He is real & I have seen Him answer very specific prayer, almost on a daily basis. You would be astonished...**

I would be the first to admit that there are way to many people in this country that use God's name and his word (The Holy Bible) to use partial quotes, and scripture taken WAY out of context to further their goals of hatred and cruelty. As a christian who truly loves God the father, Jesus his son and The Holy Spirit this brings me so much pain and sorrow.

True Christians are not like that. Even though we are definitely human and far from perfect I personally do my best to find the best in people. The truth is God forbids us to judge others. We're responsible for our own behavior and sins, not for others. Please understand that I am not referring to a legal court of law. This is provided for in the bible. In a courtroom we judge one another's behavior and whether it's detrimental to others or our society. That however is a totally different story.

I realize with great sorrow that so many people spew hate and narrow-mindedness in the name of the Lord. I hope in the future you will be able to see the difference between them and true loving and forgiving Christians. Believe me, we've all sinned but have been forgiven.

I wish you the best and truly hope you will meet some true Christians. Please E-Mail me anytime you would like to.
