everytime someone asks me if one day I'll have kids I tell them the same thing every time, NO. 2 me kids are 2 much of a commitment, and I feel like if I one day decided 2 get married and my husband already had kids from a previous relationship at least i know that if we were 2 get a divorce i still wouldn't have the burden of such a big responsibility. Am i crazy? Should I give motherhood a second thought? By the way I'm only 21.

YOU GO GIRL!!!! You have no idea how many parents I've met up with who think that parenting is too much of a burden. For once, I'm actually typing a message to the one person on earth who thinks parenting isn't for them, and because of that, they don't want kids. Stick to your guns. There's nothing wrong with wanting your freedom.

You are still young and should be out having fun. They would be too much of a commitment now. Taking on a man with kids is a huge commitment too. You are obviously no where near ready for marriage if you are thinking ahead about burden and divorce.

It is good that you realize you are not ready for the huge responcibility of children just yet, but you are still young and who knows how you might feel in a few years. If you ever meet someone you want to marry you might change your mind. But until then dont let anyone make you feel crazy or selfish or bad because you want to continue to focus on you I think that thats awsome.

Just politely tell people that right now that you are just concentrating on taking care of yourself for the present being and will think about it when the time comes. Tell them that you are only 21 and that you have your whole life ahead of you. If you are feeling like you are about kids now, then you probably won't have kids later. It's your choice and people should respect your decision.

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to have children. However, you are still young and I am willing to bet you will probably change your mind in the future. If you ever have children, they will be the best thing that ever happened to you. Being a mother definitely gives you a different view on life.

motherhood is something you'll never regret...im 23 and have an 11 month old he was quite unexpected...but make sure you do it when you're ready to start having kids...i would give it a second thought definately....its well worth it and the joy when the kids are born is unexplainable :)

Some people just are not "wired" for kids.....thank God that you see that now and not AFTER having one! I think it is nature's method of population control for a species (humans) that no longer can be kept in check by predators or lack of space and food.

You may change your mind down the road but for now when some rude nosy person says are you going to have children?? Answer them with " Why, is there a shortage?" that will stop them from butting in again. lol

Don't go having kids just because you may think that is what is expected of you. Do what you want to do, live your life the way you want to and the way you are comfortable with it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
