this reminds me of the line from "Good Morning Vietnam"
in which the question is asked how do you tell who is the enemy.
"well, we ask them, are you the enemy? and if they say yes, we shoot them"
it's a useless question that any intelligent person should be insulted to ask or be asked.

I am not a terrorist. No, I have never planned for a terrorist attack and no I do not consider this question stupid nor would I be offended if I was asked these questions when applying for a visa of a foreign country. However, I would think that the person asking the question is a complete idiot because such a person would not declare that they are a terrorist and need the visa to gain access to enable them to launch a terrorist attack. If things were not as serious as they are today I might joke about it -and give a fake admission -just to see the look on his face-that would be priceless. But as I'd probably be arrested -I would not do it, as tempting as it is. The not so funny fact is -I would bet my last dollar that the most dangerous terrorists out there do not fit the racial profile and probably have blonde hair and blue eyes.

No. I'd just think it was stupid of the government to assume that someone who was, currently is or is planning to be a terrorist or plan a terrorist attack would actually admit it while applying for a visa.

Not if they had been attacked by terrorists, no. I would be glad they were protecting me. However, I wonder how many people are really expected to answer 'yes'.
Attorneys and policemen have to affirm they haven't been involved in weird stuff too (plans to overthrow the government). If you are asking for a privilege you can choose whether you want to answer or do without.
fishball - LOL, are we supposed to CARE if a terrorist is offended?

No I'm not now or ever will be a terrorist and even if I were I certainly wouldn't say yes if someone asked me. Yes I would feel sorry for the people asking me if I were new to this country

It is a stupid question that only a bureaucrat would think of asking.
Just like the stupid questions at the airport about whether you've let someone else tamper with your luggage or if you're carrying stuff for them.
You'd have to be a completely clueless idiot to answer anything but, "No." So, it doesn't help, in the least, except that it makes security seem so poor.

Yeah, i'm a terroist. By paying income taxes i financially support acts of terrorism overseas waged by the US government. And, as Bush said, those who support terrorists ARE terrorists. So that makes me a terrorist. Anytime someone asks you if you're a terrorist, tell them that!

I'm not a terrorist. I think I might be a little offended, because who would really say the truth if they were.

My World Geography teacher always calls me "The terrorist" ... I don't know why, and I find it quite funny .. so ironic because I don't believe in the system of countries or religions.
