Eph 6:10-18 tells us we are in a spiritual fight, but why?
and what are we fighting for? I don't want commentary, or what one thinks (Colossians 2:8), I want it explained only through the Word by scripture (1Corinthians 2:13).

Why does anyone follow any religion? People are afraid of the end of their existence and so they've devised fantastical stories with a creator(s) and an afterlife or rebirth. This also makes it easier to credit a god or blame a devil when they come across something they do not understand, rather than admit they are ignorant. As a species, we simply aren't evolved or advanced enough to understand everything, but science has already shown that most of these religious theories are highly unlikely (if not impossible) to be real. We are a part of nature and will be recycled back into the world just as all matter and energy is. We are not above animals...we ARE animals. Wake up, people!

If you don't want commentary, read your Bible and don't ask anybody else. We are in a spiritual battle, my friend, and anyone who isn't is either not saved, or is so backslidden and ineffectual the Devil's not going to bother him.Read Romans Ch 7-8 and you'll get a clear picture of part of the battle, against our own sinful nature. If you are a real Christian, then you will try to win others, and if you're doing that, better expect opposition.

We are in a spiritual fight because we belong to Christ and not to the world anymore. Those who are of the world(those who are unsaved) are against God and they are His enemies(James 4:4). Because you have the desire to please God and not the world, the flesh and the spirit will fight fiercely against each other(Galatians 5:17). Satan knows that he cannot get our souls. He therefore has designed a plan to defeat us while we try to live for Jesus. We will face temptations in this lifetime on a regular basis, but we can look to Christ for victory because He was tempted like we were but was without sin (Hebrews 4:15). He is not the type that does not sympathize with our struggles that we face everyday of our lives because He faced them too. I hope that I have explained to you why we are in a fight right now in this world. Now let me tell you what we are fighting for. We are fighting for a crown that is incorruptible (I Corinthians 9:25). Jesus wants us to win the lost to Christ and to do that we must go out and proclaim the message of salvation (Mark 16:15). What we are fighting for is the salvation of souls and Satan is trying desperately to capture as many souls as possible because he knows that his time is very short (Revelation 12:12) Although that reference of Revelation refers after the Tribulation period, that can be applied to this day and age. I hope that I have explained this clearly to you in a way that will compel you to go out and tell the world about Jesus because we only have till the Rapture and that could happen at any given moment.

as a devout Christian that doesn't believe int he bible nor the church as it exists, you can't ask a true answer of an untrue book.

If you are Christian, then there is no fight. The victory has been made. If you are not Christian then your only obligation (and questionable in that) is to tell the story. (Preach is a word that means to tell the story, not bang someone over the head and kill them if they disagree or don't accept).

" for some seed fell on stone and some was eaten by birds and some found fertile ground and grew." Tell the story, it is up to the individual to accept or not. If not, "shake off the dust form off thy sandles when you leave" it isn't your concern if they reject it..

Eph. 6:11 says: Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

It is the constant battle between good and evil

John 10:10 says: The thief (the devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

EPH. 6:10-18
We are in a spiritual warfare - whereby Satan and his minions are consistently set to tear down not only the Holy, through temptation and hardship, but to maintain a strangle hold on those in this world to keep them captive to sin. We need to equip ourselves with truth, faith, righteousness and maintain our Salvation. Being equipped properly is the only way we will stand the test - AND - help others who desire freedom from sin to break off their bonds.

COL. 2:8
Many preachers as you should know are deceptive or following a deception taught them. Todays world (as in Paul's time) mix in worldly philosophies that contradict Christ's teachings. They bring carnal wants and needs ahead of anything else (wealth, casual sex permissiveness, vanity) and often brings elements of the world in to their flock like Hard Rock Gospel (a worldly project that only allows its members to embrace the world and paint a cross on it - then calling it Holy. When we fall after such things we are being taken captive by them. This also would include false doctrines like the trinity, pre-tribulation rapture (Post Rapture is provable and understood much easier).., and sprinkle baptism, etc.

1 CORINTHIANS
- again Paul is talking about Spiritual Truths - that we do not follow after Human Traditions, standards and carnal wisdom, but true followers. God shows us, teaches us, by spirit and that is what Paul and the Apostles taught - Spiritual truths not vain human wisdom comparing human thought with human ways.

The spirits of all religious peoples are in constant battles. The battles are over good and evil, over what the prophets meant, over what the direction of the religions are going in the future, and over an individual way to make a close connection with the higher power.

We are in a spiritual battle because of the fall, but take heart,
because Jesus has already won the war. These battles we
are experiencing are just mop up battles which will train us
and help to prepare us for the life to come.
