Think about this: If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone----- YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !!!!

Subject: THIS WAS IN A TAMPA NEWSPAPER

Will we still be the Country of choice and still be America if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????

Think about it! All we have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?

I celebrate Christmas...........but because it isn't celebrated by everyone..............we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings.

It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday?

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that. This says it all!

This is an editorial written by an
American citizen, published in a
Tampa, FL Newspaper. He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS,
NOT AMERICANS,
MUST ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we
are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11,
we have experienced a surge
in patriotism by the majority
of Americans. However...... the dust from the attacks had
barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about
the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to ! America .
Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants.
However, there
are a few things that those
who have recently come to
our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of America being a
multicultural community
has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans......
we have our own culture, our
own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH , not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women.......on Christian principles.............
founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented.
It is certainly appropriate to display it
on the walls of our schools.
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as
your new home.........because
God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or
you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move
to another part of this planet.
We
are happy with our culture and have
no desire to change, and we really
don't care how you did things where
you came from.
This is
OUR COUNTRY,
our land, and our lifestyle.
Our First Amendment gives every citizen the
right to express his opinion and we
will allow you every opportunity to do so!
But once you are done complaining....... whining...... and griping....... about our flag.......
our pledge...... our national motto........or our
way of life....I highly encourage you to
take advantage of one other Great American Freedom.......

THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

It is Time for America to Speak up
If you agree -- pass this along;
if you don't agree -- delete it - You are in the WRONG Country!

AMEN

I figure if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later
get back to the complainers, lets all try,
please!

I am in the right country. This country was founded on the principle of "all men are created equal", not Christian domination. I do agree that "PC" has gone too far. There is no law against wishing someone "Merry Christmas", it's companies that force the issue for fear of offending non-Christians.

I agree with you on the "English as the National Language" point, but the government needs to step up to the plate on this issue, or it'll never happen.

On to the God issue:
I am a Christian. I carry Christ's teachings with me in my daily life. I don't need it printed on my money, which, I feel, is an object of lust, therefore sacreligious. America is a "melting pot". Equal right for all regardless of religion, race or sex.

Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, two of our most prominent Founding Fathers, were Deists. Washington and Jefferson were not particularly religious but tended more toward Deism than Christianity.

Thomas Paine, whose writings were a powerful catalyst for the American Revolution, vehemently attacked Christianity in one of his works and refused to embrace Christianity, even on his death-bed.

God is not mentioned in our Constitution. The Declaration of Independence simply mentions "Nature's God" and a "Creator", neither of which specifically imply a Christian god.

Per the Treaty of Tripoli, endorsed by President John Adams and ratified unanimously by the US Senate in 1797: "the Government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion..."

This is the America I love, one where everyone is free to worship as they please without State interference. That is what the First Amendment to the Constitution is all about.

One last issue: the pledge. The Pledge of Allegience, as it was written in 1892, was "I pledge allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty, equality and justice for all." "Equality" was removed and "under God" added. Coincidence?

This is a sorry-*** editorial piece, rambling on with contradictory statements like:

"This idea of America being a
multicultural community
has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans......"

It tries to touch on important issues and questions, but lacks focus. Why do you quote this? Couldn't you find something better?

Personally, I think we should establish English as the national language, while strengthening instructions in other languages, starting at the grade school level. Teach more Spanish, Chinese and other languages by all means. Americans should not be ignorant and isolated from the rest of the world.

Some countries require immigrants to test competently in their national language. I don't have a problem with that, if it were to apply to new immigrants, not some old grandmothers who have been living here for the last 30 years.

America is by definition multi-cultural, and now it is multi-lingual. By the way, what exactly is this special "American" culture we are supposed to be preserving, while we are supposed to ignore the wealth of culture brought here from other countries? Coca-cola, apple pie and Babe Ruth? Brittney Spears?

Come on, take a deep breath, count to one thousand.

The problem is not really not the diversity of cultures here. It's just that we haven't had time to adjust properly to this huge influx.

First of all America doesn't have an official language or a culture....its the combination of all the cultures mixed together that is that makes America! We should not forget that this so called America as we say belongs to Americans first of all that's wrong it belongs to the Red Indians whom we drove away, whens the Europeans migrated here! This land this based on Migrations! I guess we have to know our history very well before we open our mouth!!!
Europeans took this land from Red Indians and for what they called thanks giving a big thing we do that particular day thousands of Red Indians were killed before the feast began!! So basically every year we feast together on the death of those who were killed!!!
As for the gods we all believe in god but there are some who just are so much into themselves to open their eyes to see that we are all created equal there is no difference!
And for 9/11 that our govt was well aware of that so i don't know whom to consider terrorist bush or the ppl who attacked! Knowing everything and not acting against hmm what would you call that??

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or
you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move
to another part of this planet.
totally agree with this ppl who don't believe in this they better move!!!

Seems some could care less about your rights. Only theirs. And yes speak out and pass it around. Nothing wrong with Christian Principles they helped many. And it took many to make up the Constitution of many faiths to agree that these principles are good for all. They had sense than and never imagined the nick picking of the selfish here .

alright, i must say this to you, what is american culture? think about it. freedom is an illusion over here. i am american and also a muslim. the reason english is the national language over here is because the english came here and killed out the previous native americans. do you think these people agreed with the laws that the chrisitans imposed on them? there were also people here called melungeons. look it up. these were arabic people mixed with native americans. islam was here before christinity ever touched these shores. you learn in history books what the government wants you to learn.
as far as freedom goes look at the constitution it was designed to be by the people not by the polticians. so all these issues you have are because your fellow americans fail to get off their hinnies and do something about it. instead the american people sit back and watch their country get over taken by illegal immigrants. now when the american people allow these people to come into the country and over populate more then the english speaking natives whos fault is that? your governments? nope it is the fault of the people. you need to look at the rest of the world. do you think that americans who travel to other countries speak their language? no they do not. are there people who accomidate them and tell them if they do not like it get out? no they stay living there. go to saudi arabia. there are 40,000 american familes living over there. and they speak ENLGISH. i feel unless u are native american shut up or get out. do you think these people like seeing what their country has become since the europeans illegaly came and killed them off? further more what is wrong with learning other languages? this country does not belong to the christians. this country accomidates the chrisitans and the jews the most. muslims are treated like trash mean while the chrisitans are over in their countries killing and stealing all in the name of "freedom" this is justice to you?
in conclusion if you do not like it get out. you have no more right to this land then any other non native american person has to this land.

You have the right to complain as long as you are a legal citizen. In god we trust is not the national motto. It is E Pluribus Unum. Get your facts straight. I do not see in your rant where the fact that the christian founders murdered the natives in order to take their land. How christian like. Or the fact that the early settlers raped the native women just because. How christian like.

This country was formed on violence, lies, and deceit. Makes you proud to be an American, does it not?

I agree that we need to actively protect our culture. There are many forces whittling away at our collective identity.
