Eating healthy and staying active should be enough. There's also plenty of exercises you can do around the house.

Exercise be it in the gym on the road on the sports field or just in your front room can be of exactly the same benefit to your health. Many people do not enjoy the gym environment, this is fine, don't go. Just try lots of different exercises like tennis, skipping or even buy an exercise bike and use it while watching your favourite tv programme in the evening. Currently the guidlines for maximum health benefits are 1 hour a day 5-7 times a week. there is also some scientific evidence to show that this hour can be best split up into smaller sections, for example: 10 minuet brisk walk to work in the morning, 10 minute walk at lunch, 10 minute walk home, and then 20 minutes on the bike and 10 minutes skipping when you get home.
This routine will help you stay trim, improve and maintain bone health, reduce risk of lots and lots of diseases and alos help boost energy levels and mood.
However if you want to get fit, intensity is the key. Make sure the exercise is specific to your fitness goals i.e. you want to run 10k faster, train by running fast interval session on the road or treadmill and also longer runs. simple as that. Good luck and keep at it.

Here's an answer I gave someone else.
Use some 10lbs dumbbells to work your biceps. Do like 3 sets of 25-50reps Mon, Wed, Fri or Tues, Thurs, Sat. Get yourself a good jump rope too and use it daily for around 10-30 minutes. Do the following program of bodyweight exercises everyday.
Hindu Squats
Hindu Push-Ups
Back Bridge
Try to go 25-50 hindu squats with the goal of 500 eventually.
Try for 25 straight Hindu Push Ups with the goal of 100-200 eventually.
Go for a 30 second Back Bridge with the goal of reaching 3 minutes.
For a detailed explaination of these exercises go to www.bodybuilding.com and do a search. Or purchase the book Combat Conditioning at www.mattfurey.com .
Don't forget to eat a lot of good nutritious food and get 8 hours of sleep a night! Remember to stretch as well! Be blessed!

Yes, you can maintain your weight but will have to stick to the recommended daily allowance of calorie intake which is around 1500 for women. I would suggest that if you aren't going to go to gym you still remain active, a brisk 20min walk a day, climbing the stairs instead of the elevator, parking a little further away from a shop or giving the house a good spring clean keeps your circulation healthy and maintains your weight.

There is no need for any gyms, and they are way too expensive anyway. People have lived on this planet for hundreds of thousands of years without gyms, and they were much fitter and healthier than most people are today.
If you want to keep fit and healthy, then just keep exercising for yourself and - even more important - watch what you eat. When I felt that I was getting too large, I changed my diet and habits.
Now I go jogging for 1-2 hours every morning, and all I eat is a diet of porridge, brown rice, lentils and fruit. My drinks are water and tea. There is no sugar or fat in my diet, and nevertheless I feel much better, healthier and fitter than before. In six weeks I lost more than 20 kg in weight and had no problems or side effects (such as weakness, tiredness, energy loss etc.). Quite the opposite. It works for me. So if you want to try it out, be my guest.

there are quiet a few things that can be done at home.
1) you can invest in some cheap work out video(walmart or ebay)
2) go to the parks for walks or jog or ride a bike(if you have one)
3) if the grocery store is close to you walk to it rather than drive
4) instead of taking elevators take stairs, dont park the car close to where you are going, park the car way out so you can get the walk
If you drink pop,, give that up you will be cutting down on quiet a few calories by doing just that

Well not really i don't believe in going to the gym cause i think its waste of money and instead can work out at home. can do what i do which is to set ur target for a specific type of exercise and carry out each day, either at night before going to sleep or in the morning before having a shower. this can be for example 20 press-ups a day and 20-sit-ups. much cheaper and with the right music, ur set to be fit.

But the best advice i can give you, is you do not need the gym realy if you cannot afford it. there are many ways to start exercise, just hook up a few friends, go jogging, exercise at home, it can also be a lot of fun

You could go running (just like on the treadmill but outdoors), dance in your lounge (like aerobics!), run up and down the stairs (like the stepping machine), press ups, sit ups, exercise videos/DVDs, go for a walk, buy some weights (I got a set for £6 in Cash Converters). Housework is supposed to be good exercise too. Walk somewhere instead of driving (saves money too!) or get on and off the bus and stop later (for on) or earlier (for off). See, plenty of ideas there!

No. While watching what you eat and doing some cardio activity you should be fine without a gym. Try walking, running, stretching, yoga, swimming, a sport... You have tons of options.
