My husband and I recently divorced (read my previous questions). Well, we are working things through and she felt that he had kidnapped me and our son....I had a detective phone me. What do I do, I can't take much more.

wow... i guess try to tell her you have things under control. but it sounds like there is more to it if she is that worried about it. so either she knows every minute of your day or you are going to have more contact with the detectives. hard to tell you what you should do. sounds like you have a major issue in your life going and then a complication to add to it. but good luck... i guess always remember... your day is always just seconds away from getting worse... so be happy with what you have. at least your mom loves you.... like i said... it could always be worse

Depending on far too many factors to explain here. From the heart: if you are 13-14 years old or older and have not been physically abused by your parents, talk to the detective. Make a choice for now and tell both your parents how you feel. You do have rights. In some States parental kidnapping is a crime in civil and criminal court. However, most courts understand that in today's world things happen. You stay safe and keep in contact with both parents if it is best for you. No parent should use children as leverage to coerce the other.

Since 1969 the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act was enacted in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. In 1980 the federal government enacted the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act4, to address interstate custody problems that continued to exist after the adoption of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act. The Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act mandates that state authorities give full faith and credit to other States’ custody determinations, so long as those determinations were made in conformity with the provisions of the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act.

OK. Your family dose not like your ex-husband. Now you have to make a choice that I myself just made not to long ago. Either your family Meaning Mom, and the rest, OR your Ex, and your son. Not any easy choice I know. You are the only one that knows what will really make you happy. Do this for your self and no-one else.

Basically you keep saying/asking the same thing over & over. Apparantly your mom has very strong concern for your safety, with possibly good reason. You should both be talking and LISTENING to each other. Please use caution on all fronts. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It's a crazy world.
