I have found for my gun which is a mossberg 500 slugster that rifled federals work the best. I have had problems with winchesters. they jammed up my gun. Don't use sabots unless you have a rifled barrel

almost any slug will work in a smooth bore. the old forsters are cheap but some of the sabots have better terminal ballistics. not all sabots will shoot accuractly however. lightfield, BRI, and other dumbbell shaped ones do however while the ones using rifle style bullets will not. most seem to like either a improved or modified choke the best. buy a box of each and try them out in your gun. most guns have definite preferences and what works well in your buddies gun wou't shoot well in yours a lot of the time.
