I always heard 4 laps is one mile....is that 4 laps on lane 1 or lane 8?? If I run all 8 laps on the track did I run 2miles? alittle less? or a little more??

a high school track is 400 meters (unless its REALLY old, then its 440 yards).
4 laps is close enough to be a mile as to make no difference, if you run the inside lane. On the outside lane its about an eighth of a mile longer.

8 laps is 2 miles.

The difference is negligible. Try to stay about in the middle.

ask the authority in the school to make sure the figure is right
