Cats are highly adaptable creatures and can be happy in all climates. Keep them indoors for a while to get them accustomed to their new home, then gradually introduce them to the outdoors. They'll be fine.

Depends on what the other options would be. A friend or someone who will take them and provide good care and a loving home, or dump them at a shelter?????? If you can't find someone to take them, you have to take them with you. Cats are adaptable. The shelter I work at in New York state just took in 15 cats from Mississippi. They have never seen snow and cold. Cats do have fur. It will adapt. It is a cop out to think they cannot move because of the cold. People do it all the time. You are not the first and you will not be the last.

Of course! I moved from Virginia to Germany with two indoor/outdoor cats. No problems (except for that annoying German-accented meow they now have).

of course transport them exact is the 1st suggestion. as quickly as you get there save them indoors for 3 weeks utilising a clutter tray. After that they'd desire to have the scent of the hot domicile and have not have been given any issues once you enable them to out. I particularly have moved my 15 twelve months previous two times utilising this methodology and in no way had any issues. solid success.

I brought mine from Florida to TN. Just keep them inside for a while until they know where they are at. They will shed and grow new coats to adjust to where ever they are. I wouldn't just let them outside if you move during the winter time. You'll need to keep them inside until spring.

Yes, but you must keep them indoors because they will try to find their old house and end up dying in the process, Just keep them inside, spay and neuter them.

If you love them, take them wherever you go. Keep them inside for a while though. I live in Canada and my cat doesn't go outside in the winter....doesn't like getting his paws wet and cold.
Loves going out in summer though.....get them used to a collar and leash.

Yeah, definately if that's where you're going. Cats are people oriented. They would rather be with you than be in the location that they are now.
