Talk to a publisher. If there isn't anything likely in the phone book, then do an internet search for publishers in your country/state/area that specialize in church or civic groups. Sometimes you can even find adverts for them in the backs of ladies magazines. You can also do research at a library or local book store for publishers who do small runs of specialty books.
Alternatively, if this is something you want to publish or print primarily for the family; You could think about investing in a good quality Computer Cookbook Program (Master Chef [I think] is the name of one of them). This will allow you to actually input all those family recipes and turn them into an electronic cookbook. Once completed, these recipes can be printed in several formats, including traditional recipe cards.
Possibly this will allow you to make your own cookbook overtime, something to distribute throughout the family. (Don't forget you can also send it to some electronically burned on a CD.) And if there are others in the family willing to help, share the program with them so the work goes even faster!
But do do something! So many of us say we're going to get that recipe from this person or that person and then the elderly are gone and we've only memories remaining. It isn't just the elderly either, my best friend Annie passed away just a year ago and I miss her terribly. We use to talk of food for hours, and she would tell me about her childhood in Australia, but we never got around to sharing exact recipes and now we never will.
Cheers & Good luck

There are companies online that will publish (for a fee) your own cook books.
If you want it to look 'professional' you can do that, though it will be kind of pricey.
As for me, and my family, we write down the recipes on the computer, print them out of 3-ring binder paper, and put them all in a binder.
By now we have,like,12 of them.
write on the outside which recipes are in them, and you can make as many binders as you want, we certainly have, and it keeps growing...

Im a graphic designer and I could design you a nice book about 28pp for £100 and then I know printers that could do the printing and collating for you.
It depends if you want it full colour or 2 colour and how many copies you need but I would think a 2 col job would be about £500 for 1000 copies double for full colour.
Then I sugest you go round selling them or try ebay or amazon/play.com.

I would do a sample on your pc. And sell them at local car boot or church sale. To get some feed back first. Then you should talk to a publishing house. Once you have done all of this, then make sure you copy right every thing. Solicitor or citizens advice will help you.

If your tech savy you could purchase a website and publish them on there, but if your looking to market the yumminess then start out with the yellow pages depending on where you live there is most likely a publising company.

I did one to raise money for our local sailing club. I had to use a typewriter, (much better now with computer and word) type your recipes up, take them to the nearest printing house, (mine was known to me so I got it cheap), ask them to cut the pages if necessary. Also design a cover and fly sheet, if possible make another page with recipe pages listed.
take them home and staple them together and hey presto. A lovely idea. p.s. if you can get hold of a "guillotine", cut the pages yourself without the printer.

Checkout http://www.fundcraft.com/fc/home.asp
I used them a few years ago for my masonic Lodge and we made a profit of about $3000 for charity selling them at $6 apiece
The end product is very professional with a comb binding and they will divide the recipes into the appropriate categories with great looking dividers. etc.

I don't know the cost, but you would have to contact a publisher in your area and let them look @ what you have. Then they'll decide w/you what changes to make and decide on publication.

Try Lulu.com - very good and easy process to follow if you want to self-publish. Costs aren't too bad and there are options you can choose from.
