In 2006 what is your definition of a gentleman?

oh i like this topic so much...
a real gentleman:
1- always stays on d danger side when u walk & cross d street
2- holds ur elbow 2 assist u in crossing d street
3- opens & closes doors after u
4- pulls a chair 4u
5- carries ur stuffs no matter how light / heavy they might b
i think that's abt it & guess wat, i'm lucky 2 know 3 gentlemen who still exist @ this century.. 1 is my bestfrend, d other is a closefrend & d last is my ex-bf
so if ur a gentleman, pls dont change... women will always have a soft spot 4 guys like u... (believe me!)

A gentleman is a guy who treats women with respect and love. He puts her needs above his own and he loves her where she is at... He is mannerly and opens doors for her. He does not disrespect or degrade her in any way. He treats her the way he wants to be treated. He does not call her names or picks on her to hurt her! This is just some of my definition of what i think a gentleman is.

A gentleman to me is someone who treats me with respect. Calls out of the blue to say he's thinking of me. Opens the car door for me. Keeps his word....when he says he's going to do something he does it. Someone who will defend you and stand up for you. Someone who is caring and loving.

well he would still open doors for me, he would still stand when I stood, he would offer to pay and allow me to if i wished. he would still hold my hand and walk me to the door, but he would ask to kiss me. and i would say yes. a gentleman is still the same a man that does not push a women into things she is not ready for and a man that respects her and treats her right.

hi, i would say that he should not be a yo!yo!kind of guy,should be respectful to me as a lady i.e.lets me participate in discussions,respects my mum.he shd also wear respectable clothes as per the days,in as much as we are not gods i believe if a man is a gentleman then he shd try to make me feel good in whatever we do together eg in bed he shd make me feel as good as if there is no other woman but me.Lastly i believe that a gentleman is a man who accepts his mistakes and tries to change.thanks

Someone who listens, someone who after 2-3 years still gives you compliments and knows how to treat a woman instead of putting her down or making her feel like crap with the things she does.
