of course they can. The parents are NOT the only set of genes involved in each child, you know.. every ancestor of each parent also has a contribution.. so if you and your partner are each blonde.. or brunette, etc.. you could have a very red headed child.. because great grandma or great uncle Jack was VERY red headed and it simply showed up again.

Anyone can produce a ginger kid. There is a big different between genetic red headed people and ginger people.
ginger is a birth defect in the skin similar to albino. the skin is much thinner so blood cells are closer to the outter layer of skin causing taht bright orange hair. the skin being so thin is why gingers are so white with freckles and burn so easy. most giners also have light eyes simply because they are so sensitive to the sun just like albinos have such light eyes.
a ginger can pop up in any family. it doesn't mean that mom hooked up with the milk man.. It is true that the more gingers you have in our family the more likely you are to have a ginger yourself, but at the same time there could be no trace and it's slighly possible for one to be born.

I suppose it is possible for a blonde and a brunette to produce a ginger kid. As long as both of them have the recessive ginger allele. they might not necessarily show it but if they do have the allele then there is a 1/4 chance of gettin a ginger kid. Its the dominant genes that will show the phenotype. But with two recessive ginger alleles U will see a ginger phenotype.. bye bye...

I'm not entirely sure, but I know for a fact that a brunette has at least one dominant hair colour gene. Hence the dark hair. A blond has two weak genes in hair colour. I'm not entirely sure about gingers, but in theory if both partners have the "ginger gene" (which is definitely possible in the brunette, not so sure about the blond) then it's possible that their offspring may be ginger

Yes! My niece is brunette, her man was blond, and they had a cracking little ginger haired boy - really strong colour hair, but extremely pale skinned

Yep. The ginger gene is recessive, which means you or your partner could have it the gene. Under the right genetic conditions, you coulds have yourself ginger kid... it doesn't mean that someone has been cheating!
