Keep track of the start (date and time) of your period for at least six months; count the number of days between start dates and figure out the average length of your cycle, that's how you know when to expect the next period to start.

Be advised: Every woman's menstrual cycle is different and any woman's cycle can vary at any time for a number of reasons. Even if your periods are irregular it's still a good idea to track them; you never know when your doctor may need that info.
