perhaps it is hot where u live and the cat is sleeping on the stainless steel or porcelin because it tends to stay cold. my cat used to sleep in the bath tub for this very reason

They like the coccoon-like feeling of being in the sink; kind of like a nest. Get a cat bed, and problem cured.

My cat does the same when it is hot. I think its cause the sink is nice and cool for them.

my cat likes to sleep in obscure small places like that. it's just something in their nature. also, it might be hot in your house, in which case the cat is seeking some relief, and the sink is usually cold.

its bc they can. r cats lay in the sink its funny. one of r cats was n the washer and dryer we have a picture of it too

I think because ofthe way they are shapped....mine does the same thing. Its also so that when I walk in in the morning, he has first dibs on the water!! Haha
