1 litre =1000 cc (cubic centimetres) = 1000 ml (milli litres).
Rest is simple arithmetic which tells us 500cc is equivalent to half a litre (1/2 litre).

P.S. Our body contains approx. 4000-4500 cc of blood. Now you can visualise and correlate.

cc stands for cubic centimeter. Since 1mL= 1 cubic centimeter, 500 cc = 500 mL.
