~No, actually, I don't. I think Iraqi nationals are fighting to protect their homes, their culture and their rights from an imperialst invasion. I thought that when it started and I thought that when we invaded Afghanistan. Why was I in a 1% minority then but am part of an increasing plurality now. The facts haven't changed, just the body count.
Duh. You start a war, soldiers die. If the war starts in your homeland, innocent civilians die. When you invade unjustly, people don't like you and they return the favor by bombing buildings or by crashing planes into them or by any other means at there disposal. They are called patriots and heroes for doing it by the folks on there side.
If we are invading to "free the people from oppression and tryanny", why aren't we doing the same in Saudia Arabia? In Korea? In Cambodia? In the nations of any dozens of our allies? Could it be the oil? Could it be that in most places were can't get away with it, for fear of economic or other retaliation by the rest of the world?
Are you starting to get it?

Insurgents are nothing more than terrorists. America is at war with terrorists. While fighting a war, people from both sides suffer losses. That is the high price paid for freedom. If the Americans do not go to the fight, then the fight will continue to come to the Americans. If it's between USA soil or Iraqi soil, I would prefer Iraqi soil.

Everyone suffers in war. While I don't agree with the reasoning behind the war, I have nothing but respect for the men and women fighting it.

Iraq was a tinderbox waiting to erupt long before we got there. The only thing keeping it under control was Saddam, through fear, murder, and intimidation. Now that he's gone, all the sectarian disputes have come to the surface and a civil war is taking place with our soldiers caught in the middle. Anyone who has studied any Mid-East history will tell you this.

There are those who say we should pull out now and let them fight it out amongst themselves, but the more noble solution is to finish what we've started, and then withdraw completely (no permanent bases, no multi-billion dollar embassy). As long as our military presence is felt, the violence will continue to escalate.

I will continue to pray for bungibabe's son and all the men and women over there. May they finish the job and come home soon...

Don't know where you are getting your info from...probably the liberal news stations, but I think it is the other way around. I think the insurgents are suffering in the hands of American soldiers. The news reports on US casulties but rarely mentions the costs inflicted on the insurgents

If the insurgents are in America, making the soldiers to suffer, you are right.
But what if the intruders in a country are not acceptable to the locals?
People fighting for their right of freedom are not insurgents. They are sons of soil, mind it, and have full right to safeguard the interest of their nation/country like America and UK have..

the word insurgent ,and insurgency are not being properly used.please refer to your dictoneries.
the inseurgent is that who revolts against a legal, sound, national government,or regime, not the one who refuses and resists occupying forces, and their set government.in this case he is called freedom fighter, because he is resisting on his soil for his freedom, culture, the future of his children.
if china will invade usa one day ,the chinees will call the americans who try to libreate usa, terrorists and insurgents.where as the americans will call themselves freedom fighters.and they will have all the rights in the world to resist.so why people use two balances???.
it is natural that every occupying,or invading force will suffer alot, though not matireally, though their opponents suffer mor casualities, because they have no real cause.they are on strange soil, they are fighting people who did nothing to them (remmember that the military fighters are also humans and have families and children, and love life).whereas on the other side casualties are considered sacrifices for the homeland.and all the sufferings are prides, the pain is the price of dignity and honoure, for life without these two things worth nothing.
hasnt america been fighting for its freedom since it was found 200 years back???.so why it dosent leave others live in peace.

My best friend is in the air force. I don't think for one second any of the troops WANT to be there, but at the same time, all of the ones I DO know are there for the benefit of the people.

I completely support our troops and what they are trying to do all over the world.

I may or may not agree with the wars, but I am very proud of the bravery of these men & women.

Not in the Philippines, they enjoy much here. That is why some of American soldiers are accused of rape because they feel free in here. They do whatever they want to do,go to night clubs and be drunk or even in casinos.Read our local news and know how they abuse being soldiers and being AMERICANS.

My son is there so I don't like to think about that. What he tells me is the hardest thing over there is hearing the news talk all the bad and the liberals hating his President. But he knows they have freedom of speech and respects that. But he himself wouldn't want to inflame or make the enemy feel bolder.

My thanks to "John Stolworthy"
