Or is that just a suggestion. I was told that if we are caught biking without a bike helmet we will get a fine.

I live in Texas. And, when I bike, I usually bike on the sidewalk at a relatively slow speed.

It depends where you live and where you ride.

When I'm in my nieghborhood at slow speeds, a helmet is just as stupid of an idea as it is to not wear one when I'm mountain biking.

Freedom to use good judgement is supposed to be the American way. Unfortunately our legal system has forced us to behave and think like we're sheep.

It depends where you live. But it would be really dumb to bike without a helmet on. Just the same as riding in a car without a seatbelt. Why not take a preventative measure to keep you safe????

first of all its probibly illegal for you to be riding on the side walk if your at least 17 unless your going slower than 10 miles per hour but as for the helmet thing it depends on the county you live in like for me my stree you dont but when you cross it to the other county its a fourty dollar fine. crazy but ya just call up your local sherif and ask him he knows all as far as the Law. ok have a wonderful day and God bless your ridding.
