Borrow a dog, a rucksack, a tent and a copy of '500 mile walkies' and go walk the south west coastline from Minehead to Dorset. Get back to nature and discover yourself.

You're gonna need some spending money, but a round the world trip is cool, pre book your flights but explore where you can when you get to your destinations. It cost about £1,300 in the UK to do and that was for 3 months worth, so shouldn't be too bad for 6 weeks, that way you get to see everywhere and then, on other holidays, the places you loved best go back to and explore some more. Go on, stick your back pack on and travel! Good Luck with what ever you go for! x

My recommendations are as follows:
Trekking: Himalayas on the Indian side (Himachal Pradesh) and then explore the deserts of Rajasthan.
Amazon start off in Leticia, Colombia and make your way by boat and hiking to Brazil.
Taman Negara, oldest rainforest in the world, located near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Cruises: Scadinavian cruise to Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Lativia... depending on the cruise line.
Train ride: Fly to Beijing and arrange your trans-Siberian ride with Monkey Business (travel agency) or you can do it yourself for a tenth of the price. Stop in Ulaan Baator (Mongolia), Irkursk, Lake Baikal... and have a week in Moscow and later a week in St. Petersburg before exiting in Tallin, Estonia.
Beaches:
South America - Providencia and San Andres in Colombia
Asia - Manado in Indonesia; Goa in India, Koh Chang in Thailand
Culture:
Bhutan, India, Japan, Korea, China...
History:
Poland, Egypt, Peru, Vietnam, Cambodia...
I guess that there are more interesting and exotic places that I've been to but don't quite remember them off hand.

It depends on where you live and how much you can afford to spend. But since you say "where on earth" I will assume that you have some money saved. I suggest that you travel Europe... hitting London, France, Rome, etc. There is plenty of sight-seeing and you can stay in a hostel to make your travel less expensive. OR, you could go to Hawaii and have a lot of time on the beach, relaxing and drinking strawberry daquiri's... okay I want to go with you!! HAHA... But you would be able to enjoy night life and beach life in Hawaii and actually get more rest than you would travelling Europe. Yet another idea is to go down a coast of the US and stop at everything want to stop at! But perhaps you want easier travel than a car.... hmmm... The great lakes are a great place to go... my favorite is South Haven, Michigan. You could go hang out in San Diego and then spend time in LA, San Francisco and Napa.... the world is yours right now... go explore it. :-)

If money isn't a problem -- I'd drive across the U.S. and stop along all the neat places I always wanted to see and haven't had time.
Then I'd take a cruise to the Caribbean for a week on the "Freedom of the Seas" -- new largest ship.
The rest of my time I'd chill around home and do catch of home improvement stuff.

Try travelling to Canada. You would be surprised at how nice of a country it is. Depending on where you live, you might find it a less expensive vacation

it's always good to go to non-touristy places in my opinion. if you really want to have a great time, take a road trip. map out places with great camping, hiking, and scenery, or go along the coast to smaller beach towns. so much history and unspoiled beauty. those are the best vacations.
