A condition in which the stomach produces too much acid, or certain foods, fermenting in the stomach, leave too large an acid residue. The commonly repotred symptoms are heartburn, belching, and pain in the uppper abdomen. True stomach acidity is far less common than generally believed. The reported symptoms are more likely to be an allergic reaction to some food component other than acid, or the warning signals of a more serious ailment of the digestive tract. A persistent acid stomach should be carefully investigated by a physician. The control of symptoms with antacid powders or tablets on the part of the patient may mask a more dangerous underlying condition.

Hyper acidity is a term not heard of very much anymore. It's another word for heartburn or acid indigestion. Certain foods should be eliminated from the diet that has high acid in them, such as tomatoes and tomatoe foods. But before you restrict any foods from your diet you need to have a doctor to examine you. Your symptoms could be more severe than what you first thought it was. Good luck!

If your condition is hyper acidity, first of all, go see your Dr. There is a wide assortment of prescription meds that work wonders. You sould be under alot of stress and have an ulcer. Do you ever have black, tarry stools? I have a chronic ulcer in my esophagus, and take one pill in the morning and have little problem with anything that I eat.
