if you don't trust her you could check her phone/email msgs but it'll only make you become more suspicious. you'll always want to find a proof that she's cheating on you.
has she ever given you any reasons to suspect her that she's cheating on you?
if not, you should be more confident in her or otherwise you'll ruin your relationship

i don't think it is wrong as such, it's a bit sneaky though, ask her to show you her messages in front of her, let her scroll through the phone and show you what she has on there. Or ask her if you can look at her messages. My other half looked through my phone and found a message from a number he did not recognise, after 4 days of stressing he finally asked me what this number was and why I had saved a message from the number. It was actually his OLD phone number from about 2 years ago, he did not remember the number, he had sent me a really sweet text that I wanted to keep so I archived the message. So even if you do see something suspicious, make sure you get the right facts before jumping to conclusions.

Yeowch!

It's wrong if she doesn't know because if she's honest with you and SHE FINDS OUT, she'll take that as a "You don't trust me". Also, because you might be looking for evidence of an affair, you could read everything the wrong way.

And if what you suspect is true, you're going to have to deal with the next dilemma: Whether to let on that you know or suffer in silence... Both ways it's a no-win.

Ideally, I hope for open communication in my own relationships but there is no easy way to deal with this dilemma. I hope you make it through.

It's wrong. If you suspect her cheating the relationship is on the rocks anyway isn't it, so I guess then doing something like that is still wrong, but you won't be together for much longer. Respecting your partner's privacy is a key ingredient in a happy
relationship. If you can't do that....not sure if you'll manage that
happy relationship....in general, just don't man, don't go through
other people's stuff....how'd you feel if she did it to you?

100 % unethical for any reason. However, you have more than enough reason to suspect her, especially since she will never let you meet him. Time to BE OPEN with her and sit down and talk. If after you told her how you feel, she flips out on you, then I'd suspect she's not being faithful. Trust me on that.

If you go through your girlfriends text messages it means you don't trust her. But that's besides the point. I want you NOT to get hurt. You might find a suspicious message which in reality means nothing or is totally the opposite of what you think it is. You'd get worried and hurt maybe for no reason.

its hundred percent wrong because u might misunderstand something someone sent her, she might not be cheating on u but someone might be chasing her and eventhough she wont agree the person might send some messages like, " i miss u so much or i love u or lets meet somewhere" which doesnt mean they are going out or she's cheating on u. a mobile phone is a personal phone thats why each and everyone of us has one.

it totally depends on what is your intention behind reading her messages.

plus there is an added risk that you may read something which would make you unhappy.

there is also a very high chance of you misunderstanding some very personal messages and the relationship would not be the same.

anyways it totally depends on how open minded you are to read or not to read the messages.

i would do it but with an open mind.

In my humble opinion, if you are this suspicious of your girlfriend then you need to move on. Even if you find nothing on her cell phone you will continue to be suspicious, which will play out into the relationship. It seems you might be on a spiral where things will get worse and worse.
