HIV testing is not compulsory perse...it might be deemed to be compulsory by an insurance company where you're applying for life insurance...but not as a general rule...

i think some people are worried about their status and a lot of that is due to the stigma that living with HIV seems to bring...,

HIV does not discriminate by age, colour, creed, culture, sex, or any of the above, and its not only by unprotected sex either, although the blood transfusion services try their utmost to protect people, there are still victims of this suffering from HIV too,

I think its important for everyone in this world to go for an HIV test and to regularly do so, regardless of whether you're sexually active or not and regardless of whether you practise safe sex or not..., you're looking after your own health and the health of those you hold dear by going for a test...do it today

It is reccomendable to do it, because HIV has no cure, but prevention only. Besides HIV+ means virus carrier, but not exactly active disease. HIV can have a long incubation period, so people who didn't know that they carried it may transfer it to other people.

Problem Nº 1 is that the virus attacks immune system when it causes active disease AIDS, and it causes immunosupression. HIV+ people have to check their CD4 white blood cell count and the viral load, to se if they are more prone to oportunistic diseases.

No it is not compulsory in general. But some times, for recruitment to army or for insurance etc. it may be advised with the informed consent of the person.

You don't have to take the test, why are you so down on it. If someone finds out they have HIV, they can tahe meds and live a long time, if you'd let it slide, you could expect a long, painful death
