He had money and was a good business man but he choosed to throw everything away and go to live with the poorest people, he was the contrary of us instead of trying to get more money he was trying to get more poor and he was God's favorite for that. Why ? Does that mean that if us instead of fearing poor areas we go and share our lives with poor people we also would be great like San Francesco? Thanks

He was god's favourite because he displayed perfect detachment. For absolute happiness , you should be able to free yourself from this world and all earthly stuff...that is detachment. If you ask me he was building up a v.good account / balance for himself in the next world...smart guy i must say.so i guess we too should follow his example and start doing some social work and detachment practises to make up for a better account in the next world.

He was not trying to be poor, he just gave away anything he had to the poor and thus became poor himself.

happiness u will find only in poor peoples, its fact,as same in india, we are poor, but u will find a smile everytime on our face, beause we are happy, u cant buy happiness from money
