Invite the guy in question over first, get to know a bit about him before you let her go out with him. Trust your daughter's instincts. Depending on how she was raised and how much you trust her, I would let her go out from age 14 onwards (on conditions that will gradually changes as she grows older).

Well i was 37 years old when i let my oldest daughter go out on her first date with a guy and by the way she was only 16 . (thanks Lynn for the best answer 10 points you gave on one of your other questions , Patrick .

i wasn't allowed on dates until I was 16 and the same rule will apply to my 2 daughters.

Every girl in my family was allowed to date when we were 16. I thought it was very unfair at the time (of course), but looking back, I understand. Kids these days date way too early and are sexually active way too early. Don't promote it.
