its more the fact that you're prepared to make the effort, not everybody is a gourmet chef, but everybody can try...you've done that...now you can ask for dessert :-)

Have faith in your abilitites. You've cooked before and I'm sure it was great. Not to add to your nerves but have gone out with him in the past and seen the food he orders? Just to make sure you didn't cook a rack of lamb for a vegan or anything ;-)
