Why did Michelle Wie try to qualify for the U.S. Open at the sectional in NJ rather than the one in Hawaii?

I know there were more spots available at the New Jersey sectional, but the field was *much* stronger, and she's presumably much more familiar with the course in her home state.

Because there were more spots. The odds of getting through that site was about 12-1, where other sites were about 20-1
