Yes, Jesus is God. You ask an excellent question and I honestly welcome the chance to look into it. In fact, you just asked one of the better ones I've heard. The verses from John 10:33-36 are a quote from Psalms 82:
Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
So first notice that while it says humans are children they will "die like men, and fall like one of the princes." Princes probably refers to the fallen angels like Lucifer who is called the "Prince of this world" by Jesus.
Therefore we see this sense of children is seemingly tied to our creation by God since it has no effect on our eternal security. This is not the sense of adoption into God's family used in the New Testament. I wish there was a Scofield note on this to give you on this matter but I found none.
As for how Jesus used the verses, He apparently used them to show that God says we are of similar standing to angels and thus for Him to claim to be God's Son is not as fantastic given that knowledge.
I don't know that these verses say whoever follows a righteous path is God's Son/Daughter. The focus seems to be merely on Jesus' divinity, and notice that He never denied the Jew's accusations about what He claimed.
However, to be perfectly honest, your question is making me now think... The interlinear Greek word we interpret gods is theos, which Strong's defines as
of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
It would seem to be that God is saying we are all deities... Yet at the same time, it profits us no more then angels, for He casts us all into eternal separation from Him in spite of that fact. Indeed, perhaps it is because we are all eternal souls given knowledge and wisdom that we can be called deities as such. If so, then it gives all the more basis to why Jesus appealed to this verse in saying God has made us deities, yet Jesus alone is part of the God-Head, and the only begotten Son as He claims...
These are just my humble and possibly wrong thoughts, hopefully my reasoning this out gave you some food for thought and additional insight into this. Thanks for the insightful question that I believe really helped me see something about the Scripture I'd never thought about it, I really sincerely appreciate it. Thanks

Jesus was God. Read John 1:1-20 and
1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
the Word is Jesus Christ also
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
There are more scriptures to show you this look them up. I hope this helped a little.
P.S JW's bible is not correct they changed it to suit their beliefs, get any other translation it will give you the correct wording. JESUS WAS GOD........Messenger

Jesus is Gods only begotten Son. John 3:16 says God loved the world so much he sent his only begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. John 14:23 Jesus said "if anyone loves me, he will observe my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our abode with him. He that does not love me does not observe my words; and the word that you are hearing is not mine, but belongs to the Father who sent me. Some believe John 1:1 proves Jesus is God, but it says in the beginning the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. John wasn't saying Jesus is God but is god like, and it also shows that Jesus is Gods first creation. Verse 3 says all things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.

Jesus was God and Human, that what set him apart from other human on this earth called Jesus, and his Holy Spirit all three are ONE. They didn't believe Jesus as the son of God when they crucified him, it was until he died on the cross did some believe.

Your God is the One who created you and created Jesus. and created this whole uinversal.
Jesus is a human prophet sent to the children of Israel as a miracle. He born as miracle for a sign to the children of Israel who are too stubborn to believe. so when they disbelieve and accused his mother with false insulting. God supported Jesus with the Holy Spirit (Ruh Al-Qudus) so no one can have any excuse why don't they believe.
but Christians admired Jesus so much until they took him as a worship, but Jesus is Innocent from all this. and Jesus was just a servant from God sent with a peaceful message to humanity.

Jesus is God's son sent to redeem sinners. He is both man and god. Born thru a human, he can feel our pain, yet he's the son of god. If we believe in him, we will belong to god and be like his son, sharing in the inheritence of eternal life.

We are all Children of the Divine. Jesus was the Child of God just like you are, I am, and Jerry Springer is. Jesus was actually 'sent' to earth by one factionof the subterranean lizard people who secretly rule this planet.

Jesus is a prophet and a messenger from Allah.
5:116/7 In the Name of Allah 'And (remember) when Allah will say on the (Day of Resurrection): "O, Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unot men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?' "He will say: 'Glory is to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen).
"Never did I say to themaught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: 'Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things."
Peace be upon us all.
