I am thinking about getting a bike via mailorder, but I am not sure which size I need. I am about 5 foot (1.52m). Most adult ladies bikes seem too large for me.

i think if u want to buy a bike, mail order is not a good idea. there are quite alot of things u need to consider, there are different sizes too. go to the shop, the shop people will help u to choose the most suitable one for you. and at least you can try to ride on it to see if it fits well

A bike shop is the only way to go. You'll get the right wheel and frame size, then they will adjust seat height and if needed to some degree handle bar tilt for your body.

If you cant make it to a bike shop, at Walmart they have a chart by the childrens bikes that goes by inseam. I believe 29 inch inseam and above was a 26" bike. 28" inseam and below was 24"

might be better to go to a shop, cause you can eliminate all the questions you have, and they should measure you up. Plus you get to test before you buy. imagine the hassel in recieving something via mail order and its all wrong?
