it's a combination of pherimones and any perfumes you may have on from soaps, lotions, etc....
They will also attack if threatened.

Perfume, scented deodorant, anything that smells flowery. In the fall, they are more of a pest because all the flowers have lost their pollen, and the bees and wasps get very hungry. They'll go after my can of Coke in the fall!

light clothing doesnt help especially orange.
Also if you have been eating sweet things i think.
But bee's and wasps just fly around everything so its not that they just head for people (although i think they have it in for me).
They probably think the same about you standing in the way all the time :)

There will be hundreds of scientific reasons I suspect, but I have often heard that they are attracted to brightly coloured clothes...yellows, pinks etc..probably just a confused bee thinking we are a flower -

A friend told men the other day it's CO2 we breathe out. If you are angry or frightened you breathe more heavily and this aggrivates the wasps.
Bright clothes may do it too. My white shirt is a magnet for greenfly!
