Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are the largest world religions today. Approximately 75% of humanity belongs to one of these 4 religions. Christianity is the religion with the largest number of professed religious adherents, followed by Islam. The third-largest group of approximately 1 billion people adhere to irreligious approaches which include Humanism, Atheism, Rationalism, and Agnosticism. Hinduism with 900 million adherents is the third largest religion followed by 19 smaller groups of religious adherents. These figures are necessarily approximate: note that the figures in the following table total nearly 7 billion people, yet the world population was only 6.1 billion (2005).
Eastern Christianity: Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Assyrian Church of the East, and the Eastern Orthodox Churches (including Western Orthodox churches which preserve Latin practices while accepting Orthodox theology), with a combined membership of more than 300 million baptized members.
The Roman Catholic Church, the largest single body, which includes several Eastern Catholic communities and totals more than 1 billion baptized members.
Protestantism: Numerous denominations and groups such as Anglicans, Lutherans, Reformed, Evangelical, Charismatic, Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, Nazarenes, Anabaptists, and Pentecostals Worldwide total ranges from 592 to 650 million.
Other denominations and churches which self-identify as Christian but which distance themselves from the above classifications together and the major beliefs in which the above denominations follow claim around 275 million members
Mormons with more than 12 million members
Jehovah's Witnesses with approximately 6.6 million members

It's Christianity. I'm no Christian, but to be honest it is the fastest growing religion. Not to mention all it's categories that makes it big. People be saying it's Islam. It's not. In fact, Islam is losing followers because of it's followers behavior. Chopping heads, kidnapping journalists and decapitating them... Oh gosh.

Christianity, even though it is split up into many sub religions it's still a religion all it's own.
If you only count it's sub religions then it would be Roman Catholic. Itself is bigger the any other religion.

Christianity is, unless you want to call Atheism a religion. I do, and I think there are far more non-believers than believers. But otherwise, there are more Christians than any other religion, in terms of both people and assets.
Also, Christianity is not forced upon people. People are free to choose. Islam is not a choice in many countries, and in indonesia millions of people were killed because they refused to be converted forcefully. Estimates say 30 million chinese died in Indonesia rather than convert. Many women that were not killed were raped and some face forced sterolization. My point being many people that were forced to convert may not really follow the faith deep inside. Its a matter of survival.

Christanity if you count ALL of the little denominations and off shots of it (incoulding stuff like the jahova's witnesses and mormons).
If you don't count denominations among any religion.... it's hard to say really, they would probly have to do a study on it becose most the studies count all the denominations together in one big clump.
But... I think it's ether Hinduism or Buddhism.....maybe Agonstic/athiest... but I dought it.
