i think it's funny everyone immediately assumes when you say 'family guy', the first thing that comes out is 'CHURCH!', it's like one extreme to the next ain't it? ;p
You can find stable guys almost anywhere and surprisingly everywhere. Cafes are not bad places, ask them what meal they're having if it's casual enough :p. Internet dating is popular nowadays, or even join up an acting class/dance or yoga class. Bookstores are not bad places either :).

Church, Gyms is you like those metrosexuals, At the beach...you meet all types there. Just avoid the ones that are completely bombed and don't have enough sense to get out of the sun.

Church activities are a good way to meet new people.Churches organize hikes,camps,choirs and sports so it is a good way to meet

why dont you try getting involved in sports? gold, tennis, squash? most of the stable minded guys are out there playing sports....
