NON RESIDENT INDIAN is an Indian citizen living abroad on a semi permanent basis like a job or business etc.NRI is given several privileges.NRIs can get for their wards university admissions,extra bank interests on deposits,permission to import medical equipment,bullion with some conditions.

Coined for the Indians who are born and brought up in India and are currently residing in a foreign nation. They still retain their Indian passport unless they are naturalized citizens of their new country of residence. Some countries offer dual citizenships also.
