You'll be healthier and more athletic. The more you swim now at your age, the less health problems your likely to have at my age, and beyond.
Sort of like the old saying, "An apple a day, will keep the doctor away!"

you'll get stronger in a lot of places, you'll lose weight, and you'll get a great aerobic workout :) plus, swimming is fun and keeps you cool in the summer
