What's going on that they'd think it might help...Did you feel you needed help?... Think about it ... It isn't shameful to have a problem ... It's shameful to ignore a problem....Good luck...Angel

Yes, you have a problem. But why Prozac? Probably because the doc wants the money from the insurance. That's why diagnoses of ADD has skyrocketed. It's better to say you have something and the doctor gets paid for the visits rather than saying the parents are stupid. Prozac is normally prescribed depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, panic disorder, and bulimia. And oh by the way, you might want to read up on it. 18 year olds and younger have a few serious side effects.....like a higher rate of suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Prozac isn't age related. Apparently your doctor thought it would help you and it might but you won't know unless you give it a fair trial. Prozac isn't the "devil" medicine some people make it out to be - It is a very effective medicine - I took it for 3 or 4 years with no unwanted side effects.

your doctor has prescribed this medicine for you because he thinks that you NEED it. everybody gets jumpy at times. many people are constantly depressed. even kids as young as 8 years old have suicidal tendencies.

these kinds of medicine are supposed to target the chemical imbalances in the brain that become a factor in psychological disorders.

it's up to you if you think you really NEED this in order to feel good and happy.

Don't take it, if you think you are depressed, you're not alone. Anti-depressant pills have lots of psychological side affects. I personally think they do more harm then good. You need to find other ways to be happy instead of resorting to a damn pill. Trust me I was down that road...but I'm glad I did not take them. My doctor told me too, but good thing I refused. I don't want to live my life dependant on pills when I have my own mind to fight this stupid mind plague. Your mind is the most powerful thing, so fight it with your mind.

Obviously your doctor thinks you have a problem.

Any 18 year old who says "so a drink alil bit" has a drinking problem.

Doctors assume that anything can be cured with chemical products. Even what used to be considered perfectly normal.

eh I don't know why he perscribed prozac. Zoloft works better and is not habit-forming and has much fewer side effects.
