I would like to hear one reson why there shouldn't be gay marriage that isn't related to your personal morals, or the bible.

And before you go off about raising children letting them marry has nothing to do with addoption, becose you don't have to be married to do that.... and they have already shown gay's are just as good at raising a persson as anyone else.

Anyone got a good resson?

I don't think me or many other homophobes could be gay very easly... lol... but IF some how something did make everyone gay, I rather think it would be good thing.

It would sertaintly solve the whole overpopulation problem we are getting into.

Acutaly my favorit topic is metaphsyics and the like.

BUT.....

a - Most deffently, there are FAR FAR FAR fewer close minded gays, most all of them are very openminded and accepting of the views of others. They would deffently let them marry, manny i have known would acutaly help get them together. lol

b - I wouldn't see why it would change much, they prity much have the same morals as most people do they just don't see a problem with gays being together.... and neather do I and i'm homophobic.

c - What dose that have to do with anything? Dose it really matter anyway? o.o

d - We NEED a negative growth rate... so what dose it matter..... the ones that whant babbies will get serigant mothers (if there men) or artifishaly insiminate (if there female.)

Chirstianity is NOT the only religon with marriage.... and the US was founded on the freedom of religion. To make marriage JUST about what the chirstain god says it means would brake down the very founding belives of the US.

As for the whole thing on animals and plants and objects and the like.... They CAN'T convay they wish to be joined in marriage, so whats your point?

Even if that is what they deffine merage as now ... a house lamp can't say "I do" can it?

But that don't matter becose it's making merrage between two people and thats it.

I just love how people can argue that homosexuality is "unnatural," while they're wearing clothes, probably own a car, eat processed foods, use plastics, and are at the very moment that they're discussing "unnatural" homosexuality are sitting in front of a COMPUTER.

Good grief people...just think for a minute about the world you're living in. I don't think "unnatural" cuts it as a viable argument. And for those who like the "flap A fits into slot B" argument, come on...I could use the same reasoning to argue against the morality of people living in cold climates. Why, it's just not NATURAL for us to be living in places where it snows part of the year! We're a tropical species; we have a very narrow range of temperature tolerance, we're just not DESIGNED for the cold! Therefore it just naturally follows that it's immoral for us to be living in northern latitudes; we all better just pack up and head for the tropics! For the sake of our children!

Just because you've got a problem with it, don't try to force your narrow-minded little worldview on the rest of us. I happen to think olives are disgusting and I can't understand why anyone in their right mind would eat them; that doesn't mean that I'm looking to legally ban their consumption by everyone. Get over it.

Not trying to sound moral-but advise given in the bible has shown to be beneficial-whether we like it or not.

Food-those who eat what the Old testament said in the Law-has its benefits-and by test shown outstanding results. Same with Hygiene laws. The herbs used than still work. It goes on and on (work habits, making of colors out of earth, settling differences ,survival-I could go on pages full)

If science had understood the bible-it says the circle of earth-they would have know the the earth wasn't flat to begin with.

Ways of conduct-if all followed (some do)the world would defiantly be better.

Even how to treat your mate (not one but many) Many by following principles have done very well.

So you justify your stance-but not enough record supports this is a good thing. Record-I do not mean personal opinion but results. There are records to show increase in illness and disease (Aids is only one), multiple partners in most cases so far, a more difficult live (which even public outcry whether right or wrong makes it harder). Its true others who live a opposite sex live have problems too-if not following principles laid out.
My point is-these principles seem to do good if followed-if not you pay the price and so far nothing to show that these things in any way harm a person by following . That you will like it is a different story.

You got one reason -I get 2 points.
I can give more not to hurt you in anyway just trying to give you some reasons.

Let's reverse the roles, since this is your favored topic. Let's say that the Gays ruled the world today...

My questions then are:

a] Would the ruling gays look down on those 'unnatural' heterosexuals at all? Or would they be quite tolerant and allow men and women to marry each other??

b] What moral code would it be like in such a setting, I wonder?

c] Which would be the ruling group between the two, the effeminate men or the amazon women??

d] What happens once the population decreases to zero or negative growth rate?? Who takes care of the aging group then??

Hmmm... curious thing that.

If everyone in the world suddenly decided to become gay, wouldn't that mean that children would all have to be conceived by artificial methods? Can you imagine the lines, chaos, and fighting over who got the best sperm at sperm banks? It's starting to sound like something out of Brave New World, a very amoral, selfish world. Besides, you would be totally going against nature. Just think of it from a long-term perspective.
P.S. I am not in favor of controlling over-population by this method. I believe that the world was created for God's children to pass through mortality for important reasons, and the family unit (one father, one mother, and children) is the ideal basis for that (realizing of course, that divorce happens, and not holding that against people). You can argue all you want to support your point without using religious means, but at some point in time, everyone will know one way or the other. Something that is wrong will not be able to perpetuate itself indefinitely. It was the same in the time of Noah, and it is the same now. Have a happy day.

Aids has nothing to do with being Gay and population numbers is not really convincing, nor is the 'long term' view. The real obvious reason for not having Gay marriage is: -
the same as how we got here in the first place...we cant prove it...no amount of reasons is going to stop people making excuses for their unnatural behaviour. More so we all have our own decision to choose. Our choices are going to have to face a living God who will repay evil for evil and good for good. We need to find out what God thinks not what we think is right or wrong. God told a leader of a country not to do a census, the man thought that there was nothing wrong with doing a census and so did one. The consequence is that God struck his country with famine. Not all of our choices will recieve discipline from God straight away we may face discipline from God when we die. Even Athiests should be fearing the very fact that they could be wrong and that there could be a God who will punish people for what they do wrong whether they knew it was wrong or not. We need to find out what God thinks...HOw many of us can understand how God created the planets and the universe...where did he get his power from....how many of us can do the same thing as God....we cant....and we need to see these issues from God's perspective. God hates homosexuality....he has told me....I found out....I sought God and God showed me.......He thinks its unnatural and quite sick......its disgusting to God...its morally wrong...when we will humans wake up and stop being so tollerant and politically correct toward things that are obviously just plain sick! doodles dont go with doodles in fact its evil!

I want to play.

I am a Christian, and I see the whole its a moral sin point, but that has nothing to do with the law.

My friend says gay marriage would break down the sanctity of marriage. I say hetrosexual divorce rate of 50+% has already done that.

I think it should be legal. They should have the same rights as anyone else, to spend their lives in a legal way, with someone they love.

And wouldn't it be a kick in the *** to all of us if it turned out homosexual marriages had a smaller divorce rate than heterosexual ones?

Because man is created for woman
The male organ [penis] can only work on a female organ [vagina] in terms of reproduction...Getting married means that you are tasked to reproduce children and form them as great citizens in the society...If the time comes that gay marriage will be legal and prevalent, there will be a period of massive underpopulation due to the fact that the partners who are bonded in marriage is incapable of reproduction...the time may not be now but the people against gay marriage is inadvertently hoping to maintain the existence of mankind...

Marriage today is the number one cause for relationships falling apart. It has nothing to do with government, so remove all aspects of it from the state, including taxes and the like, and let the churches keep 'marriage' in the church like they want, but without the hearty benefits. If we homosexuals want to emulate the married people, then so be it, we have made our own traditions for this matter.

if evryone decided to be gay then AIDS would spread like wild fire. since there is no cure, we would all be very very sick and die a slow and painful death. there would be no more humans becasue there would be no more human reproduction, thus ending the human race. BUT......... now even though i'm a christian and do think itz a sin at heart, i do think that itz ok for gays to get married and adopt if they want. in a way it iz discrimination to allow to people who luv each other to not let them get married simply because there gay.

I think that people should be allowed to decide for themselves what they want to do. Whether it be homosexual marriage or polygamy or whatever. God gave us free will for a reason. And that did not mean that you must follow "these rules" or go to hell. That's no choice and not free will.

As long as all the parties involved enter freely and with love, and do not hurt anyone else, people should be allowed to live their private lives as they so choose.

Let me ask you, if marriage is not defined by God, who gives it its definition? If it can mean anything, then what value is there any longer to it? The result of this is seen through recent news:

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/subcontinent/2006/June/subcontinent_June56.xml§ion=subcontinent

If the definition of marriage is so broadened as to include the joining of any # of people, animals, corpses, and inanimate objects for any length of time for so long as they so wish to be joined, then one must ask, is there any longer any meaning to marriage ANYWAY?

And you can't speak of morality without referencing a higher power for one thing. Only a higher power is of an authority base from which to legislate morality. What gives my opinion on morality more weight then your differing opinion of morality? Nothing, we're both imperfect human beings with no right to say what is right for the other person. If you want to kill me or vice versa, I can't say it's wrong for that reason. Only God is of a higher authority base from humanity to say what can be ultimately right or wrong.

Furthermore, only God can set an eternal moral standard to the universe, or an absolute moral code to the universe by which absolute morality can exist. Therefore, to speak in terms of morality one must reference that which is believed to be of a higher power, i.e. God, for our own opinions hold no weight and we have no power from which to create morality to the universe.

Marriage is not a human institution. This is suggested by natural law, the philosophical term referring to the commonality in thought about morality worldwide about select issues regardless of race, culture, language, geographic location, etc... Cultures all tend to have similar ideas about what does and does not define marriage (or at least they did until recently).
