Ronald, you've got one of the best questions I've ever read on Yahoo! ANSWERS. I'd tell you everything that caused me to think along the same lines, but that would take all night, a gallon of Rocky Road ice cream and then some. I went through a horrible phase of life a few years ago and constantly questioned why me? (not that I'm alright now, but I understand better) Here's the best way I can think of to answer your question. If you have a bible, great! If not, you can easily look this up on-line. In the Holy Bible, read the book of JOB. I've probably read this particular book of the Bible more that any of the other 65 books contained within. Is everything happening in this world an act of God? Take your time and read it. As for a lot of the Old Testament, God KNOWINGLY ALLOWED people to fail and achieve so that they could pave the way for greater things he had in mind. Read the book of Job. What else have you got to do? Ask another question without knowing the answer to the last one?

No. It would be more correct to say that everything that has happened in this world has been foreseen by God and accounted for in the long range perspective. Some things happen because of our free agency, some things happen because of physical forces around us, and some things happen because unseen spiritual forces entice and push people to act in either a positive or negative way. My guess is we won't entirely understand all of the forces at work until after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Final Judgment.

In a sense yes, because God created us all. God also gave each of us the power of free will and the ability to be the powerful creators of our own reality.
The things that happen in the world are as a result of combined human consciousness. Each of us subconsciously projects vibrations into the universe as a result of our thoughts and beliefs. These vibrations affect our lives individually and add to the collective consciousness of the world. Humanity's collective consciousness creates the happenings of our world.
God allows this to happen because God will not deny us the free will that was given to us.

God set the stage with Wisdom, while Humankind composes the Society of Actors Guild, making a mockery and quite an unholy mess of the play billeted as "Life"...

No. not everything that happens in this world is an act of God.
somethings are acts of humans ourselves. In the beginning, God created EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD. but man mess things up, by disobedience.
the biggest mistake that the first man did was to blame God for his blatant disobedience. Adam said " the woman YOU created made me do eat the fruit".
when i was still a criminology student, in our arson investigation class some of the things the book told us that starts a fire is either one of the following: intentional burning (arson); or faulty electrical wiring (human error); or accidental (no intention/ no malice); acts of Providence/ God (unexplained cause of fire). here we can see how finite human mind is! if we fail to understand or refuse to understand we blame God.
let us not commit same mistake Adam did.
some things happens because of our poor decisions, situation calls for it, and many other factors. but one thing is for sure, God is bigger than life, that He can turn things for the good of those who loves Him.

God or Satan. Truthfully, I couldn't tell you either way. However to say that God is in charge of the good stuff and Satan in charge of the Bad, is a load of bull. So I will say this, who do you believe in? God? Then God is the power behind everything. Because he give strength to what we believe in. Without us, it is nothing.

Theoretically yes. God does orchestrate everything in the universe. however, He may know the outcome to everything but WE don't and that's the difference.

First define god, and then we could analise if those worldly happenings are an act of god or not.
