The whole Adam & Steve thing is so juvenile. Marriage is a civil right, and as such, is the right of every person regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Ten or twenty years from now, people will be ashamed of the arguments against same sex marriage, and homosexuality in general.

Doesn't bother me much! I don't really care if some one want to marry some one of the same sex. But I always wonder, all around the world, in all religions, all countries, all tribes, including the primitive civilizations, there are different ways of marriage and celebrations, but I never came across SAME SEX MARRIAGES. Anyway, as long as they don't ask me to attend one or witness one, I don't care.

I think it's something that deffently needs to be alowed.
No mater what anyone dose they aren't going to stop homosexuals from being homosexuals and from being together. There are many rights there denied by not being alowed to legaly marry.
It's just crule that if god frobid something bad happen to one, that they can't go with them to the hospital during the cirtal times becose there not family.
Thats just all i can think of at the moment though, but there a lot of things there denied and it's not realy fair to them....
The only resons not to alow them are religous and the US is spoce to be freedom of religon, so how is it fair to base a law only off whats said in any religon.
I can garintee if some one tried to pass a law off something thats in a pegan writing and that was the only ressoning behind passing the law, the christans would go nuts over it.

Marriage is a purely human activity, it does not occur in nature. The same cannot be said about same sex relationships.
The most primitive living things, single cell organisms, have no gender and reproduce by dividing. Simple invertebrates, like worms, are bisexual and can fertilize or be fertilized. In reptiles and amphibians, slightly higher forms of life, the gender of the offspring can be changed simply by temperature.
In fact, all life forms higher than reptiles are altered forms. All animals, including humans, start out as female in the womb (or the egg) and change into males. So within the first three months of my existence, I was female.
Also, as Bruce Bagemihl pointed out in his book, "Biological Exuberance", homosexual and lesbian activities (from nesting to copulation) have occured naturally in many species of animals, mostly birds and mammals. (Or is someone going to suggest that they "choose to be gay"?) Since all males are merely altered females, it makes sense that same sex attraction could occur due to a genetic change. And in many species (read the book) the same sex pairing of animals *adopt* the orphaned or abandoned offspring of others in their community.
Same sex relationships are normal in nature and marriage isn't. I guess that makes the heterosexual couples the social deviants. Or, we can stop putting religious nonsense and hate into laws and let anybody marry who wants to marry.

I think if two people are together for a long period of time they should be entitled to the same benefits as any other long time couple. Love doesnt get chosen by us, it chooses us. Does it matter if it chose two people of the same sex? And just for the record, I am a married woman-married to a man.

Everyone has the right to marry who they love. The only reason some question it is if they are either ignorant or highly religious. Wait thats the same thing. Rock on to those who find love no matter what sex they are.

Until Christianity is declared the official religion of the US (and let's hope that that never happens), I don't see how anybody can argue logically against it. I agree with what a lot of the other reasonably-minded people here have already said.

I think as long as you have love. It doesnt matter. Love surpasses all physical form.
If you love the person and you want to marry them. You should be able to. Male, female, both. I don't think god cares who you choose to share your body with. He's more concerned about you being a good person than who you do or do not put your penis in.

I say what does it have to do with anyone else but the two people involved? Nothing. Live and let live. Love all others as yourself, as Jesus taught.
