He might be having his man-period.
You could try just asking him about it. Then judge the answer not by his words but by his immediate actions as well as the actions of the next few days.

Sure sounds like it, doesn't sound normal. He may just have a lot on his mind, with work or family crisis. You may want to talk to him about it. At least that way, you will know where you stand.
