make sure your camera is connected through a firewire port (im not sure if usb works or not for windows movie maker). Then set your camera on the VCR function (or whatever function that lets you play your recorded video). Then:
1. Click on capture from video device OR File->Capture Video
2. Select DV camera from the list
3. Enter a file name and save it.
4. Set Video options, etc.
5. Set options and capture video
6. Drive yourself nuts editing.
7. Export and drive yourself nuts waiting for the video to render.
8. Sit back, relax, and watch.
OR
1. Start from step one and go to step 5.
2. Burn to Cd or export as a high quality file.
3. Send to other video editing program or send to dvd authoring program.
4. Burn to disk.
5. Pop some corn.
6. Watch.

Click on capture from video device. You should have the camcorder connected with either a usb of fire wire cord. I do not know if it works with the video out of the camcorder. If you don't have that kind of connection you will have download the videos directly to the computer then use the import function.

or u can use windv... its a very small and useful program
