Another division or so and we might actually become effective at stopping both the human traffic and drugs. I think people or underestimating the positive effect this could have against the drug insurgency. Mexico has always been a major player and the drugs have contributed to the immigration problem.

I agree other Countries use their military to guard there borders
We are being invaded by another Country if this were to happen to China or Israel there would be an all out war
But if America wants to stop the invasion we are all called
RACIST instead of Proud Americans

Mexico has had their military on the border for years,that they are on the drug cartel payroll is not the US fault,not only are they on the border but have crossed into US soil escorting illegals carring drugs for the drug lords,US border patrol agents have recovered fully armed hummbees stuck in the water that the mexican soldiers left while fleeing back to mexico

just like you said "we do not want to appear as if we're militarizing the border" but when their are soldiers their dressed like soilders, walk like soilders, and smell like soldiers. and they are soldiers from the military then It does seem we are militarizing the border. Besides it's a waste of time and money. You can't stop immigration
