I had a terrible experience with Air France and want to write a complaint letter but want to make sure that someone actually reads it.

Air France is said to have a poor record in responding to Customers' complaints. Air France does not even have a "customer services, opinions, or complaints" section on their website :

But officially, they seem to accept complaints, at :

Depending on what the complaint is, you can also send a copy to the DOT. The DOT monitors customer complaints for every airline and compiles statistics every quarter for number of complaints lodged for each category. On the DOT's website, on the main page about halfway down you will see a header "Airline Issues" and below that "Air Travel Problems and Complaints". The link is below.

Here is an address:
Air France Customer Relations
P.O. Box 459000
Sunrise, FL 33345-9000

This is what the website states:
To open an individual file
Please mail us a letter with a brief explanation of your case, along with your ticket receipt and boarding pass to:
Air France Customer Relations
P.O. Box 459000
Sunrise, FL 33345-9000

You will receive a written response from a Customer Relations Representative within 4 weeks.

Go to http://www.airfrance.com
On the top of the window, select the tab "Information and Services" then "Customer Care" then "Claims". The information above is listed there. Your ticket reciept is either a print off from an e-mail or the internet. Make sure it has the ticket number on it, it will be a series of numbers beginning with 057- if purchased with Air France directly. If it was a code share, Delta will begin with 006-. If you were on paper tickets it will be the last page in your booklet of hard tickets you received in the mail. Hopefully you kept your boarding pass or the stub. This will help them verify you flew, although they can look up your reservation by the ticket number to verify you did infact fly, this information is only archived for a short period of time before it is purged from record. If you purchased your ticket through another airline and this was a codeshare, make sure you send them a copy as well. Airlines such as Delta, Korean Air, Contiental, Northwest and many others sell seats on each others flights since they are all part of Skyteam or have a ticketing agreement.

Below is the direct link to the page where I found this information on AF's website as well as the DOT's site. Good luck and sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I worked for Delta for many years and it happens on every airline.
